Last year I photographed the launch of Kindles at The Kilgoris Project in western Kenya. The vision of this project caught fire and the photographs were widely distributed. They were picked up by a number of major newspapers (including the Daily Telegraph) and will be on display at the Royal Geographical Society during the London Olympics.
More importantly though, the Kindle project has been a huge success. Kids in Kenya are reading more, learning more, and getting a better education. This year The Kilgoris Project is expanding the program and want to fund 100 more Kindles and 5000 more books.
You can help by joining The Kilgoris Project in March to Read. Donate $1 or $5 for each of the 31 days in March. Your $31 gift will buy a child text books books. Your $155 gift will buy a new Kindle.
The Kilgoris Project is a 501c(3) charity and donations are tax deductible.
