Okavango Lions

untitled-shoot-20140429-086-DSC_6092 Lions spend much of their day sleeping. As I sat and watched these giant cats laze, yawn, and flop around in front of me, I expected them to be slow and ponderous when they finally started to move. Eventually one lion became more alert and noticed an impala that had strayed a little too close. At an invisible signal, three male lions and a female started sprinting after it. So much for slow and ponderous - revise that to fearsome yet graceful! The impala escaped but will likely carry psychological damage for the rest of it's life!
