Every year nearly two million wildebeest, zebra, eland, and gazelle complete a massive circuit of the grass lands that span the Maasai Mara and Serengeti in East Africa. The highlight of this "great migration" is the crossing of the Mara River. Animals jostle, push, and false start until finally one braves the crocodile infested river. Then chaos ensues and they all jump in.
Not everyone makes it across. The baby wildebeest highlighted in the next image made it most of the way before a 12 foot long Nile Crocodile attacked and turned it into a meal.
