Hiding in the eastern shadows of the Sierra Nevada range are some of California's greatest natural wonders. The salty Mono Lake with it's crazy Tufa Towers; forests of white trunked aspens with golden leaves; lakes that reflect all of the colors of fall's rainbow. It's amazing how quickly the craziness of everyday life disappears in the mountains. Maybe it was here that John Muir was thinking about in 1901 when he entreated all of us to "Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
